The Mermaid of Zennor

My love for mermaids and mythical creatures is no secret, and one place I have always wanted to visit was the legendary village of Zennor. When I was younger I remember reading books about and based on the legend of the mermaid who stole men away from the village.

Although I probably wouldn't be that kind of mermaid (I'm all Ariel over here!) I have always been enchanted by the legend. Luckily, St Ives is only a ten minute drive away.

Sunset on Porthmeor

We arrived on Porthmeor Beach during glorious golden hour, and ascended the steps to the restaurant with the best view of the surfing beach imaginable. The coast stretched along for miles with the waves crashing against the golden sands.

Vote for Me in The #BloggersBlogAwards - Best Up & Coming Fashion Blog

Photography by Martin Brown

*Deep breath* Okay.

Yesterday, I was shortlisted for the 'Best Up & Coming Fashion Blog' category in the Bloggers Blog Awards! Yep, this means I was voted into the top 5 and I am now in a chance of actually winning in that category. Words cannot describe how I feel right now, but if I had to pick a few they would be overwhelmed, ecstatic and elated.

I can literally not believe it. At the beginning of the year I made a post which listed my goals for 2015, one of which was to be shortlisted in the Cosmo Blog Awards. Obviously, they never happened, which got me down a bit. But then, like a true hero, the lovely Hayley from Tea Party Beauty started her own; the Bloggers Blog Awards. I asked people to nominate me if they enjoyed reading my blog and to be honest I wasn't expecting any nominations, let alone to be shortlisted.

When it came up on Twitter that I, ME OF ALL PEOPLE, was shortlisted for 'Best Up & Coming Fashion Blog' I actually cried, happy tears of course. It still hasn't sunken in that in October I will be heading up to Leeds to attend the awards. I cannot believe it. I want to scream it from the rooftops because I have never been so happy!

So really, I just want to say a massive thank you. Thank you to anyone who took the time to nominate me it means the entire world that you care so much for me and my little blog. It is an honour to even be shortlisted.

NOW if you want to vote for me you can do so by clicking the link here - http://www.teapartybeauty.com/bloggersblogawards-shortlist/ - every vote is like a giant hug so thank you so much if you pick me!

Thank you to every single one of you who has stood by me and made Hello Miss Jordan into something I am proud of! I love each and every one of you <3 <3

Sunshine in St Ives

It seems like forever ago since we arrived in sunny St Ives. After a treacherous seven hour drive in the torrential rain from Brighton (in which time we nearly hit a large random object that was lying in the middle of the road!), it seemed the weather was on our side as it turned into the most beautiful day imaginable.

When You Wishlist #2 - Homeware

homeware wishlist panasonic speakers lights doormat print owl candle oliver bonas kitchen aid

Top Row

Biscuit Cushions - Who doesn't love biscuits am I right?! I've been obsessed with these biscuit cushions ever since I first spotted them online and the obsession has not yet died. I do love food shaped home furnishings.

Wireless Speakers - One little luxury I've always been a fan of is wireless speakers. Having visited a few houses where they have complete surround sound in the living room it's pretty much amazing. Your living room practically becomes a cinema and what more and I know that one day in my own home I would love to have these in my living room (or if I become a miraculous millionaire, my dedicated home cinema!). The Panasonic Technics c700 are some of the highest-resolution audio systems so I think I know which one's I'll be getting!

Cotton Fairy Lights - I adore Posh Totty shop and these lights are just perfect. The colours are wonderful and neutral enough that they can go in any room.

Middle Row

Copper and Glass Frame - While we were away in Cornwall my boyfriend bought me one of the most beautiful prints I've ever seen for our anniversary from the Rifle Paper Co. I knew immediately that I wanted a copper glass frame like this one to hang it on the wall and this one is perfect.

Ampersand Print - If you didn't know already, the lovely Kate from Gh0stparties recently opened a shop on Nouvelle daily hosting all kinds of beautiful goodies. I basically want to raid the entire shop but this print especially caught my eye. I love the marbling, watercolour effect on the symbol and it would look beautiful framed in the home.

Doormat - I saw this doormat in Cornwall but unfortunately couldn't afford it at the time. As soon as I saw it I knew that I needed it in my home. How can you look at that message without it bringing a smile to your face?

Bottom Row

Owl Candle - Oliver Bonas do some of the best candles and while I was browsing I saw this owl shaped candle. *Heavy breathing* I've got a strange love for owls and anything owl shaped and this is adorable.

Lamp - Another copper item (are you sensing a theme?), this lamp is pretty much the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. Plus it reminds me of the Pixar lamp, but a tad more fancy.

Copper Kitchen Aid - "OH GOD JORDAN STOP WITH THE COPPER ALREADY". NEVER. Yes, it's true. There is now a copper kitchen aid. *More heavy breathing* It is perhaps the most glorious thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

This post was sponsored but all opinions are my own.

Summer Blues with GANT

gant boyfriend shirt

I've experienced a growing love for shirts this summer. You'll see in my upcoming Cornwall posts one of my new favourites which is blue and white striped, but you can never go wrong with classic white either. But when GANT got in contact and asked how I would style one of their blue boyfriend shirts I was extremely excited to give it a go!

Happiness Boutique

happiness boutique earrings review

Ever since a few years ago I have fallen head over heels for statement earrings. As somebody who didn't get their ears pierced (and rather reluctantly as well!) until the ripe old age of 16, I sometimes find it crazy how I've had a complete turn around of opinion. I was never too fond of the idea of creating a hole in my ear lobe, but as soon as I plucked up the courage to have them done it was goodbye clip ons (do you remember those?!) and hello real-world earrings.

My Fair Lady

As you know, I'm obsessed with musicals. I'm also obsessed with Audrey Hepburn (you can read all about why and see a cheeky makeup tutorial here!). So when New York Dress, who I've been working with on their blog, asked me to create a My Fair Lady inspired shoot, I was over the moon. They asked me to choose a dress I thought captured the classic black and white gown that Eliza Doolittle wears to the racecourse and I think I found the perfect one.

Manfrotto Bloggers Event & Making Friends

A few weeks ago I was invited up to London to spend the day at the Manfrotto Bloggers Event, where we could take a gander at all their fabulous equipment and gain some photography tips. As somebody who is truly as amateur at photography as you can get (I still don't know what half the settings on my camera do), I was really looking forward to hearing some advice from the people who know all about taking fabulous photos. I was even more excited to get to meet some fellow bloggers!

The Sportsman, Seasalter

My parents are almost as big foodies as my boyfriend and I, so on any special occasion my mama attempts to get us into somewhere we've never been before. It was her birthday last week (I won't tell you her age, but she certainly doesn't look it!) and we were lucky enough to get shot straight to the front of the waiting list for The Sportsman: a Michelin star pub in Seasalter.

We were even luckier when somebody cancelled, so we got a table on my mama's birthday! We met them there after a long drive from Brighton, and found The Sportsman on it's own, overlooking the grassy costal walks and sea.

Woods & Waterfalls

Okay, so the original idea for this outfit was to take it down by the seaside in Seasalter, but I kid you not it was like the Wizard of Oz up in there. Gale force winds and I could have ended up dropping a house on a witch if I had continued. So I went with the trusty fence and woods backdrop. I hope you'll all forgive me. (But I will most likely post those hilarious pictures of windswept Jordan in my next post when I write about the restaurant we visited!).

Soufeel Jewellery

There really is nothing lovelier than having a piece of jewellery that contains all your memories. Having loved charms bracelets for as long as I can remember, I was intrigued when a company I hadn't heard of before, Soufeel, got in contact and offered to send me one of their bracelets. I had a browse of their website and the first thing I noticed was that the prices were so much lower than the more well-known charm bracelet companies. Because of this I wasn't really sure what to expect in terms of quality. But the parcel arrived promptly and I was so pleased with it!

Lavender Fields

My dream came true. Perhaps the strangest dream in existence, but a dream nonetheless.

If you follow me on twitter then you probably are sick to death of hearing me natter on about tulle skirts this and tulle skirts that. For the longest time the princess inside of me has been like GET ON IT JORDAN I NEED A TULLE SKIRT. Well, the fairy godmothers at Jones+Jones have heard my prayers and I cannot tell you how overwhelmed I was when this surprise delivery turned up at my door. I actually cried happy tears. I'm such a weirdo.

Appleyard Flowers

You may or may not know about my obsession with beautiful flowers. If I was super rich I would have bouquets like this in my house all the time; a different bunch in every room. To me, there is nothing more special, luxurious or even romantic than a bouquet of flowers. I have had my fair share of flower deliveries in my life, but none have compared the the wonderful Appleyard London. I was absolutely thrilled when they offered to send me one of their bouquets, and after umm-ing and ahh-ing over the gorgeous choices I eventually chose one known as 'Strawberry Smoothie'*.

I was asked to choose my delivery date and soon my flower delivery was on it's way!

When they arrived, they really did not disappoint.
