Cool for the Autumn

When you think of Autumn, you probably think of warm oranges, reds and berry tones, but I do love a good monochrome look. Sometimes you just can't go wrong with a bit of black and white for a cooler, more classic look.

My favourite dress company Jones and Jones are back with their Autumn/Winter collection and I was so excited to style one of the dresses from the new collection. They sent me the Elsa Ivory dress; a gorgeous, monochrome full peplum style piece that is absolutely perfect for the colder seasons.

A View from the Hill

After our exploration of the beautiful town of Battle, we headed towards Hastings to have a ride on the cliff railways. Despite it being just a short trip along the coastline, I've never been to Hastings Old Town and I was really excited to see what another seaside town had in store for us.

To Battle

Having lived in England my entire life, I think it's really easy to forget how much history we have. I was really excited when Visit 1066 Country got in touch and asked if I'd like to go on a little day trip down the coast to explore Battle and Hastings.

The Bloggers Festival

From the moment I knew they existed, I know I had to attend one of Scarlett London's incredible blogger events. Having missed out on them for god knows how long, I signed up to the mailing list so I was immediately notified of the next event. This was to be the Bloggers Festival, held at The Conrad, St James, London. If you're a long term reader and a fan of afternoon tea, you may remember that I have been their before for their glorious garden tea (which by the way, is pretty lovely).

I managed to arrive before everyone else (as per usual), so hid in the bathrooms for as long as possible, before attaching myself to a group of well-dressed girls in hats who I assumed were bloggers. I was not wrong and I soon found myself in a hall filled with brands, goodies and of course, bloggers.

Halloween Glow + GIVEAWAY

Anyone who knows me will know that I have a mild candle obsession. And by mild I am greatly under exaggerating. There are at least two candles in every room in my house, and then I have the candle cupboard which is stocked with replacements. There is something I adore about them at all times of year; they make the house smell wonderful, they add a beautiful atmosphere and they just generally make me happy.

Lace & Tulle

Last week I took a trip to London for perhaps the busiest day ever! I cleverly (or so I thought) decided to book everything on the same day so I wouldn't have to make two trips to London. The day began by walking the catwalk in Bloggers Love Fashion Week, before having afternoon tea at Claridges for The Tea Files (coming soon!) and finishing off the day by having a photoshoot with the wonderful Joe Galvin.

The Meat Up

A couple of weeks ago (when the sun was still shining...kind of) I was kindly invited by Asda and Talented Talkers to celebrate National Burger Day at a Brighton Bloggers Meat Up...see what they did there?

We arrived at Brighton station ready to be mysteriously taken on a bus to an unknown location. It had rained earlier in the day and was still a bit chilly, so we wrapped up and all boarded the bus, seriously ready for some food. I had refrained from eating all day so I my stomach was well and truly ready for all the treats that we had in store.

The Bloggers Market

A few weeks back I managed to snag a cheeky Saturday off work to attend the renowned Bloggers Market! Hosted by five gorgeous bloggers (with extremely covetable wardrobes), we were given the opportunity to raid their closets for bargain prices! The event took place at the Hoxton Hotel, one of the trendiest and most instagrammable hotels ever.

Interview Styling

job interview clothes hello miss jordan

When it comes to interviews, I'm not one with tons of experience. I got my first job by walking into a restaurant and asking (four times, until they gave me the job) and then my subsequent jobs have been based on experience. But after being in waitressing/catering for over five years now, I have really felt like a change, meaning that interviews are now a very real and unavoidable situation. BUT, there is always a silver lining, which in my case, is dressing for interviews.

A Summer Wedding

We were back from Cornwall for all of a day before it was time to hit the road again, this time for a wedding all the way in the Isle of Sheppey. My cousin Anneka was celebrating a very special day; she was getting married!

The Minack

After leaving the sanctity of quiet little Mousehole, Ollie took me somewhere spectacular. I wasn't sure what to expect when he told me we were visiting an old theatre, but when we arrived I was truly blown away.

Mousehole Mornings

We awoke on our third and final day in beautiful Cornwall with a taste for adventure. We decided to leave the comfort of St Ives and go on a little road trip, visiting some spots a little further south. Ollie had his heart set on the village of Mousehole, which you may recognise from that really heartwarming Nationwide advert where the little boy makes his dad a scarf before he goes off to sea (cue ridiculous sobbing on my part).

Golden Sands

Cornwall is utterly beautiful, so it's no surprise that the summer months bring in the most people. After exploring the beaches in St Ives the day before I knew that they weren't really for me. They were super crowded with deck chairs, umbrellas and of course people, so we asked our hosts at the B&B for a beach recommendation where we could take Oscar. They told us to visit Porthkidney Beach, about a five minute drive from St Ives.
