My Favourite Places on Earth

I often find it hard to express how much I adore travelling. I have been lucky enough to travel from a very young age, so I have seen some unbelievable sights (Aladdin reference, anyone?). But there are a few which will always stand out in my mind as my favourite places on Earth. And these places tend to be where I've felt the happiest.

1. Home

I've had two places that I've called 'home' in my life, but both are equally as special to me as any tropical paradise. Sometimes, there's nothing more you want than to be home, where you know that you belong.

2. St. Peter's Basilica, The Vatican

What can only be described as one of the most beautiful buildings in the entire world. It is one of the few places that I could sit there for hours and just be. The picture I took above really doesn't do justice to how phenomenal this place is. It literally is a work of art, and every time I enter I feel at peace.

3. The Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Florida

You knew this one was coming, right? My favourite of all the parks in the Disney World resort, The Magic Kingdom really does take the cake as the happiest place on Earth. Last time I visited, I cried when they opened the gates. Yep. I actually cried. Don't worry, they were happy tears. I often wish for the power of apparating (like in Harry Potter), just so whenever I am down I could whisk myself off to The Magic Kingdom for a turkey leg and a dole whip.

4. JB's Diner, Brighton

A weird one, maybe, but still special. Originally recommended to me by a friend, long before I ever found myself in Brighton, I made sure to pay a visit to the good old seafront diner. They do the best milkshakes in the world. I went there. I have yet to taste a milkshake better than the ones that they dish up at JB's. Not only that, but I know this place will remain in my heart, even when I have left Brighton far behind.

5. Seabreeze Point at Disney's Boardwalk, Walt Disney World, Florida

I mentioned this place way back, and it now stands as my all-time favourite place on Earth, knocking St. Peter's Basilica off the top spot last year. I probably should mention that I specifically love this place at night, as it becomes absolute perfection. The peaceful lake reflects the glimmering nights, sending you straight back in time to the early 1900's. Not to mention this place smells incredible. It is lined with bushes of these beautiful, white flowers which fill the entire point with beautiful fragrance. At night, it's empty, which means more room for spinning.
