Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer

Today, I decided to review one of my more expensive pieces of makeup; the Chanel Levres Scintillantes lip gloss. Wow, that's a mouthful. However, it actually translates to 'Glitter Lips', which I think is quite cute.

I was lucky enough to be bought one of these dazzling lip glosses as a Christmas present and I was gifted with the colour '129 Jalousie'. Here's a shot of what it looks like on.

I absolutely adore this colour. It's perfect for me as I love my bright lip colours and this is a perfect mixture of hot pink and just a hint of red. It also has a little sparkle to it. I use this gloss a lot, mainly because of the colour and the even coverage. It's really easy to get vibrant, plump looking lips.

My only criticism would be that it doesn't have a lot of staying power and as soon as I so much as take a bite out of a sandwich it's practically all over the bread. This means a lot of reapplication. It's also quite sticky for a lip gloss and I can feel it a lot on my lips (I also have this problem where I get my hair stuck to my lips, which isn't great). However, this never dries them out, which is a bonus.

Top from Hollister, which you can buy here.

This is obviously one of the more luxurious products in my collection and it comes in a grand array of colours so if mine doesn't take your fancy, there are plenty more to choose from.

They're pretty pricey for a gloss, at £22 each from Boots here, and I'm not sure if I would buy one myself when it runs out due to the price (student living!). However, if you fancy a little splurge go have a browse of the enormous range of colours!

  2. Such a gorgeous colour! Looks so vibrant for a gloss! I have one of these and the staying power of the one I have is actually pretty good, I wonder if it varies throughout? Nevertheless, such a nice lipgloss! x

    1. It is really vibrant it's one of my favourite colours. It stays well until I use my lips for anything it may be because the colour is so vibrant that I notice more when the colour fades? Thanks for the comment Kathryn!
