Pittabun, Carnaby

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to Pittabun in Carnaby (gifted) for a taste of the Greek life at their little shop. I was definitely intrigued to see what kind of thing they brought to the table with a fast food experience, especially since everything is, as the name would suggest, in a pitta!

The shop itself is quite small from the front, with some outside seating and a small bar in the window, however down the stairs out the back there is more space, with about six tables here. The decor is clean and modern and you can see all the food being made fresh at the counter.

My dad came along with me, and he ordered the pork bun. As a pescatarian I can't vouch for this one myself but my dad thoroughly enjoyed it and finished the lot!

I went for the fish and beets bun. It comes served with salad and a dressing and the flavours were delicious. The buns themselves are massive and definitely enough to fill you up!

On the side we ordered some of the house fries which come with spicy-oregano seasoning and the manager suggested feta as well. Always a fan of any kind of cheese on chips so I was well up for this! I have to say they were amazing. I never thought feta would work with chips but they added a delicious saltiness to them. They also do some other toppings for fries, but I'd definitely recommend the feta.

We also ordered a side of the healthy slaw which was extremely fresh and light. It has dill in it which was actually super lovely and without the mayonnaise it feels much healthier than a traditional coleslaw.

I was also extremely excited to try the sweet pittas that they had on offer. They do a nutella one which is very tempting but I ultimately chose the apple crumble one. It comes served whole but already sliced into easy to handle segments. I did like it but not as much as the savoury ones. I feel like there was a lot of cream and not enough apples so it feels quite sweet and heavy.

Overal, I would 100% recommend a visit to Pittabun if you find yourself in the Carnaby area and are looking for a quick bite to eat. The prices are reasonable and the food is definitely unique - I've not had anything similar in London for fast food before! If you're a fan of Greek flavours you're definitely in for a treat.

Let me know if you've ever visited Pittabun before! x

Our meal at Pittabun was gifted but all opinions are my own
