Breakfast at Bill's

Bill's is probably my go-to place for breakfast in Brighton. Not only is the decor wonderfully interesting to look at, but they always cook my dad's poached eggs perfectly, which trust me, is a make or break factor in whether we return to a place.

The walls are lined with a rainbow of drinks, jam, chutneys and other goodies.

Plus a couple of recipes too, if you can take the time to write them down...

I think everyone needs a breakfast place. One of those cosy little retreats where you can meet for practically any occasion. This might be just me, but I also think that breakfast is one of the best date ideas.

My dad went for the Full English, which contains all the trimmings, as a Full English should. Also, as mentioned above, they cooked my dad's eggs to perfection, so no temper tantrums required!

My mama went for the Bill's Bread Basket, which she ordered because she wasn't very hungry...but turned out to be huge! It was a gorgeous basket filled with toast, croissants and pain au chocolats, plus a hearty array of jams and spreads.

No questions as to what I went for. The buttermilk pancakes of course! Blueberry pancakes, lashings of maple syrup, plus fresh bananas, strawberries and blueberries. These are some seriously good pancakes and they don't go stingy on the syrup, which is always a bonus.

Mmmmm....

I'm usually not all that fussed about chain restaurants, as having so many usually lowers the standards, but this is certainly not the case at Bill's! Also, all those beautiful treats you saw earlier? You can buy them all to take home with you. They also have a gift service, where you can pick a hamper and fill it with all the things your special someone would love!

I have yet to find a better breakfast spot in Brighton, but if you have found some brilliant ones that have made you clamber out of bed in the morning, please don't hesitate to let me know in the comments! Are you a savoury snacker or more partial to the sweet side of life?

You can find your local Bill's here.

  1. I'd love to go to the Bills in Brighton, just cos it's the original store!

I first discovered Bills when it'd only just opened its first branch in London, me and a friend were bored of going to Giraffe so googled "best brunch in London" and Bills popped up ... no one knew about it and you didn't even have to Q to get in .. now look at it! It's so popular and they're popping up all over! They just need to come North now, we don't have any up here at all and I miss my Bills brunch so much :(
