A Weekend in the Cotswolds

The weekend before Christmas, Tom and I took a little trip west to spend the weekend in the beautiful Cotswolds. You may remember I visited Bath earlier in the year, but I had never had the chance to visit a couple of other spots that I had always wanted to see.

On the drive there, we decided to stop by Castle Combe, which has been on my bucket list for a while now! I couldn't wait to explore this quaint little town which really is like something out of a story book. The houses are made from that classic Cotswold stone that reminds me of the image you'd get on a tin of biscuits at Christmas!

While exploring, we met the lovely David and Nadia, who run the Instagram account @sayingyesis (make sure you give them a follow!). They very kindly allowed us to shoot some photos with their gorgeous VW Camper, Red, and it was one of my favourite photos ever! They also got engaged later that day!

After exploring the town for a little while and grabbing a quick coffee, we decided to head on to our hotel for the night.

We were kindly invited to come and review De Vere Tortworth Court, which is an absolutely stunning mansion in the middle of the countryside. The building itself is unbelievably beautiful and I was so excited to get into one of the rooms and curl up for the night.

The room itself was gorgeous, very spacious and clean and you know I took advantage of having a bath! We recently had ours ripped out and so I really miss the opportunity to have a long soak. The bed was also very comfy, and we both ended up falling asleep at around 9pm and not waking up until 10am, so you know it was good!

We were also kindly provided with a three course dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning. If I'm honest, I didn't think the food that we had for dinner was amazing. It was quite simple and tasted ok but nothing overly special. I wouldn't really recommend it for the price of some of the items on the menu.

The breakfast however I really enjoyed! There was a large selection at the buffet as well as cooked options which I loved.

I absolutely loved our little weekend break in the Cotswolds and I would definitely recommend checking out De Vere Tortworth Court if you're looking for somewhere to stay for a romantic getaway. It was absolutely the perfect way to spend the weekend before Christmas too.

I will definitely be returning to the Cotswolds, as there's still a couple of places on my list to see! Let me know if you've ever visited and what your favourite places are! x

Our stay at De Vere Tortworth Court was complimentary in exchange for a review but all opinions are my own.
