Discovering Popcorn

If you've ever been to Home Sense, you'll know that they have a food section, usually situated near or in the queuing area, where sweet treats are abundant in their colourful boxes, delectably attempting to tempt you to just...go on...pick me up!

I'm usually good at avoiding them. Despite their knocked down price, they're still usually expensive and all originate from other countries. Perhaps it's bad that I avoid unusual food.

My mama and I waited in the queue to pay when one of the little devils caught my eye. A bag of popcorn, situated quite happily between many other bags of popcorn...but there was something about the name Almond Roca Buttercrunch that really nibbled at my brain. So we took a bag, unknowing as to what would happen that evening.

Never have I ever tasted popcorn like this before. Perfectly cooked to the point where each piece was as light as a feather, coated in a smooth layer of toffee and sprinkled with little almond pieces. One of the most unusual and beautiful combinations on the snack I've ever encountered. If you think you know popcorn, you don't. You don't know until you've tried this.

And I swear to you, I don't even like popcorn.

After snagging the bag for enough time to take a couple of photos, the rest of it had disappeared by morning, leaving only the empty shell of what used to be; the best popcorn I've ever tasted.

Until the fateful day that Pop! come to England, I'm sad to say that I will be wandering Home Senses everywhere until another bag finds its way into my life.
