Ever After Repurchases - Skincare

Once upon a time, the thought of skincare was something that barely crossed the mind of fifteen year old me, who spent the majority of her days daydreaming about unicorns and having a life that was a musical. Then, I realised that the illusion that my skin would stay forever baby soft had shattered and I had developed hormones.

Years passed as I searched high and low for products that would suit me, that would eliminate the foul beasts of white and black that had befallen my unwary skin and restore the dry patches that had appeared on my elbows. Until one day...these heroes stormed in to save the day, ending my search for good.

See? I can't even write a skincare post without telling a story.

So here are five of my all time favourite skincare products that really work for me and I will always repurchase, happily ever after.

Vaseline Essential Moisture Aloe Fresh Lotion
This body lotion basically ticks all the boxes for me. It's light, protective and leaves my skin feeling silky soft after I use it. I apply this every night after a shower or bath to not only hydrate my skin, but also to protect my tan (provided I have one!). The Aloe Vera makes it incredibly soothing, especially on a hot day.

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser
Up until about a month ago I had always used face wipes to take off my makeup. Yes, I know you're all gasping with shock and horror at the very thought, but it had always been a lot easier for me to just buy a pack of face wipes! After they started acting up on my eyes, however, I went in search of a new cleanser, as every one I had tried before had basically failed at removing all my makeup. Plus, I absolutely loathe using cotton pads.

Not going to lie, I was really attracted to the idea of a 'hot cloth' and I'm so glad I bought this. It comes with a reusable muslin cloth which you soak in hot water and use to polish the makeup off your face. This cuts through makeup easily and also leaves me feeling fresh with no mascara panda eyes after my shower.

Olay Essentials Complete Care Sensitive Day Fluid
This was originally purchased for me by my mama around a year ago and I've never gone back. She has always told me to buy a moisturiser with an SPF quality, in order to protect my face from the sun and therefore reducing ageing. I'm sounding all educational here, but it's also really important to reduce exposure to UV light as it increases risk of skin cancer. The SPF in this moisturiser is brilliant, I wore it on holiday in Florida and it protected my face from burning all day. It's also non-greasy and makes an excellent base for makeup.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub
Moving onto reducing spots now, and one of my favourite face washes/scrubs is this one. I like to scrub my face every day in order to reduce the build up of dead skin cells, so this is perfect as it's not too harsh like normal scrubs. It promises to reduce the appearances and build up of spots on the face and I find that it really works for me. I've been using this for just over a year and I can usually eliminate spots within two days using this scrub. There's nothing nicer than clear skin!

Superdrug Tea Tree Spot Stick
Another spot reducing product, this clever stick has tea tree that has already been diluted to the proper amount, so you don't have to worry about irritation on the skin. I apply this over my moisturiser every night in spot prone areas and it keeps spots at bay. I love how it's a more natural kind of skincare; sometimes it's nice to know there isn't a great load of chemicals on your face!

Let me know if you've tried any of these products and what products you always go back to!
