Hello, Sailor!

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Guess who's back...back again...tulle is back...tell a friend.

Okay, enough songs. Not sure what happened there. But yes, tulle is back, and yes, I shot this by the beautiful briny sea OH MY GOSH SOMEBODY STOP ME.

I have to say, styling up this outfit has definitely been one of my all time favourites. As soon as I saw this gorgeous navy blue skirt on the Jones and Jones website I immediately pictured this shoot. Brighton Pier, gorgeous sunshine and a pair of bright red heels to match. And I am honestly thrilled with how the photos turned out!

With all the weeks of rain and grey days that we've had, I grabbed this one day of bright sunshine while I could and drove down to Brighton Pier in the early hours of a Monday morning, just as it opened.

I knew I wanted to go for a red, white and blue sailor theme with this skirt, so of course the natural pairing was a pair of bright red, vintage style shoes and a good old fashioned striped jumper. The perfect combination!

The skirt itself is just gorgeous. My white tulle skirt is also from Jones and Jones and they never fail to produce the best ones. They are excellent quality and just full enough to give the perfect princess effect while still remaining wearable. I'm essentially collecting tulle skirts in every colour now, if you hadn't noticed. The obsession is going strong!

I also paired it up with the newest addition to my Cambridge Satchel Company bag collection, with the cutest tiny satchel in a traditional brown. It's absolutely adorable and was gifted to me by the Brighton store after a couple of mishaps with my pink satchel. I have to give a special shoutout to Amy and the staff at Cambridge Satchel Co. for their fantastic customer service!

Despite being freezing, this sunny day really did get me so excited for the summer. I'm so ready for warm weather now so I can take this skirt out for a proper spin!
