The Beauty Expert

A fun fact about me is that my all time favourite flower (other than peonies) is the rose. Probably the Beauty and the Beast in me coming out, but I mean, come on! They're beautiful, smell amazing and are the most romantic flower in the world. What's not to love!

So when the lovely people at The Hut Group invited me along to the launch of a brand new beauty bag from The Beauty Expert that was entirely centred around roses, I was so excited. A whole bag of rose themed products? Um, yes please!

The event took place at The Ivy, just outside of Covent Garden. I'd never been there before, but it was the most charmingly gorgeous place I'd ever visited. We were dining in the restaurant's private room, which was accessed by ascending a spiral staircase that wouldn't have looked out of place in The Great Gatsby

The tables were adorned with rose petals, rose themed cupcakes and our own individual single stem roses that were pretty much the most beautiful flowers ever.

Of course, we need to chat about the food. Nothing to do with the products, I'm aware, but you know how obsessed I am with a good meal! For starters we were presented with hot smoked salmon, watercress, crispy quail eggs and green goddess dressing. It was so deliciously fresh and light, one of the best starters I've had in a long while.

To follow we had Devonshire chicken breast with charred sweetcorn puree and salsa Fresca. Once again, super delicious without being too heavy. The sweetcorn puree reminded me quite a lot of when I visited Bob Bob Ricard a few months back.

But my favourite course, as always, had to be dessert; frozen strawberry mess, which was a bit like a cross between a parfait and an eton mess. It was absolutely incredible and I literally could have eaten five. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed when everyone around me finished theirs too (although I don't blame them one bit!).

After dinner we were greeted with tea, coffee and petit fours, as well as a wonderful talk from several people who work at each of the brands that have been included in the beauty bag.

After lunch we had the chance to chat with each brand individually, discovering a bit more about the products. It was wonderful to engage with people who really knew their stuff, and I definitely learnt so much about skincare that I didn't know previously!

As soon as I saw the bags on the way out I knew that I would love it! I mean, just look at those glorious white makeup bags!

The Beauty Expert Collection* contains six full sized products (no sample sizes here!), all themed around roses, obviously! The products inside are;
  1. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil
  2. Monu Gentle Cleanser
  3. Ark Body Beautiful Conditioning Oil
  4. Balance Me Rose Otto Body Cream
  5. Korres Japanese Rose Shower Gel
  6. REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift

It retails at £50, so on the pricier side of beauty boxes, but every product inside is full size, gorgeous and you save a whopping £84 by buying them altogether! Plus you get a super cute makeup bag which is the perfect size for holding all your daily beauty bits.

I haven't had the chance to try all of the products out so far, but my initial favourites have been the Monu Cleanser and the Balance Me Body Cream. They smell absolutely wonderful and make my skincare routine just that little bit more lovely in the evenings.

Let me know what you think of the Beauty Expert's Rose Collection! It's honestly such a bargain and definitely worth it for the fantastic products that it includes.
