My 5 Favourite Reads from 2019

So, I didn't manage to read 30 books in 2019, but I did manage to read 14, which is still pretty good! As you know, I have a goal to reach 30 this year, but while I'm busy trying to hit that target, I thought it would be cool to look back at 2019 and the books that I enjoyed most. Hopefully some of these will make it onto your 'to-read' list and may help you towards your own 2020 reading goal!

By the way, if you'd like to follow along with this year's journey, be sure to add me as a friend on Goodreads here!

Coming Home to Glendale Hall by Victoria Walters

This book was kindly gifted to me by the author and I'm so pleased she did! It turned out to be one of my favourite reads of the year, especially around Christmas which is when the book is set. It's such a wonderful, happy read with wonderful characters and a festive setting. What's not the love?!

The Wish Collector by Mia Sheridan

I absolutely loved this magical book. Although it's not actually fantasy and there's no magic in it, it has such an amazingly fantastical vibe to it. It's a bit like a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in New Orleans with a fun mystery behind it too. It's also super romantic.

The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle

I picked up this book while looking for magical realism suggestions and loved it. The story follows a woman who attends her birthday dinner, only to find everyone from her 'dream dinner party list' attending, including the likes of Audrey Hepburn! I love the concept and the execution.

Matchmaking for Beginners by Maddie Dawson

I'm desperate for this one to become a movie because I just love the storyline! When Marnie's marriage ends after just two weeks, she finds herself inheriting her ex's aunt's New York flat as well as her many matchmaking goals. Another super cute story that I just loved.

When the Curtain Falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher

I'm such a huge fan of Carrie's and her books, so was desperate to read this one, especially when I found out that it's set in a theatre and there's ghosts in it! Two of my favourite things. Carrie's books are always so magical and I loved the two love stories in this.

Let me know if you have any suggestions for books I should read this year! x
