The Best Birthday

I was lucky enough to wake up on my 23rd birthday this year in one of the most beautiful cities on Earth, and I have to say, it really was one of those "pinch me to make sure it's real" moments.

We awoke bright and early that morning, not only to open presents (although that was definitely a bonus!) but also because we were headed to the Burj Khalifa, aka the tallest building on the planet, for breakfast!

If there ever was a meal with a view, this was the one...

I think this may be one of my favourite photos of me ever. Looking at it even now just feels surreal!

We were dining at Atmosphere; the restaurant in the Burj Khalifa located on the 122nd floor. My mum and dad had visited before but I never had, so I was ridiculously excited to visit. They served up a glass of fresh watermelon juice and I was ready to enter a food coma.

I will say off the bat that if you're thinking of visiting Atmosphere for breakfast it's a minimum of 200DHS spend (roughly £40-£50), but it is 100% worth it. Not only do you get to ascend the tower through a private entrance, but paying separately to visit the viewing deck is roughly half that anyway! So you may as well get the food.

Nearly everyone apart from me went for the lobster; served with pretty much the most perfect poached eggs I've ever laid eyes on, béarnaise sauce and brioche toast.

I went for simple poached eggs on brioche toast, which was absolutely incredible. The eggs were perfectly runny in the centre and the toast was just sweet enough to contrast them.

Of course, we couldn't have breakfast without some sweet treats! We ordered up a plate of gorgeous French toast with berries...

While I, of course, went for waffles. What else?!

Everything was absolutely perfect and the most delicious breakfast I've had in a long time. They even bought me a little birthday cake with a candle!

After breakfast we decided to take a quick look around the Dubai Mall, which if you didn't know is located right at the base of the Burj Khalifa. It also gave me a good opportunity to show off my birthday dress!

Yep, if you thought I couldn't get any more blogger cliche, I whipped out a rose gold dress. As soon as it arrived in the mail I fell in love with it.

Dress - C/O Chi Chi London

The place where I shot these photos is my favourite part of the Dubai Mall, and they're located on Fashion Avenue (for reference if you ever visit!). Thousands of paper butterflies are suspended from the ceiling and it truly is one of the most beautiful sights.

Needless to say this dress made me feel like an absolute princess. The skirt is beautifully full with layers of petticoats underneath, and the off shoulder, bardot style top gives even more of a Disney Princess feel.

Chi Chi never fail to nail their dresses and this one is no exception. I may be building up quite the collection of their outfits in my wardrobe...

My 23rd birthday honestly was the most special day I've had in ages and I can't thank my mama enough for organising such a wonderful day. My cousin Anneka and Auntie Leila also joined me, so it was so lovely to have family around. Of course, I have to give a special shoutout to Monica who took these amazing photos of me! She's such a babe and if you're not following her already then you definitely should be!
