Dressing Up Denim

It's at that point in the year where I keep thinking to myself, "My god!!! How is it still so flipping cold?!" Especially after spending two weeks in Dubai, I'm feeling the freezing weather even more than normal. It also means that pretty dresses that need to be worn with bare legs are essentially out of the question.

So, when New Look got in touch and asked if I'd like to show how denim can be rocked as formal wear, I was so up for the challenge.

As much as I've never really been a huge fan of jeans, I do have a soft spot in my heart for a good pair of high-waisted skinnies. They're pretty much the most flattering style on me and can be dressed up or down depending on how you're feeling. Obviously here, I'm dressing up!

These jeans are also insanely comfy! The material is super soft and they definitely feel more like jeggings than normal jeans. This is the first time I've had a chance to try jeans from the New Look range and I am not disappointed!

Oh yes, I'm breaking out the frilly shirts that make me feel like an 18th century composer again. I am obsessed with the style because, like the jeans, it can be dressed up or down and also makes me feel a little bit quirky.

But I think we really need to have a chat about these heels because OH MY GOSH I AM OBSESSED. The most stunning red shade ever with gorgeous ankle ties that make me feel like Dorothy if Dorothy was also a ballerina. They are so classic and elegant and I definitely believe that red heels are essential to a wardrobe.

I have to say a big thank you to April Todd for taking these photos for me! We ventured out on a day where the air was crisp and clear but it also felt like I had icicles growing off my nose. She's such a babe.

I definitely think I'll be wearing this outfit out very soon. It's perfect for a dinner party or special occasion where you don't need to go 100% red carpet glam level, or if you're just not a fan of dresses!

Let me know in the comments what you think of the outfit and if you've ever tried anything from New Look's denim range!
