I have to say, one of the main reasons I wanted to try the Slendertox TeaTox was out of curiosity. Having gained a fair bit of weight from simply not exercising and eating badly, I thought it would be a great idea to give my body the deep cleanse it needed, and when SlendertoxTea took part in the Blogger's Hub twitter party, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out!

I wasn't sure what to expect at all. I'd heard rumours of the side effects that can occur from these teatoxes, so I was a little wary. The main idea is that you have a mug of the DayTox every morning when you wake up for 14 days, and then you have a mug of the SleepTox every other evening. If you drink tea on a regular basis, it would be really easy to slip this into your daily routine. I found it a little more difficult as I don't normally drink it, but I didn't mind the taste at all.

Now, onto those dreaded side effects. The tea is supposed to cleanse your colon and boy did it do that! Without going into too much detail, after the first mug I spent an hour on the toilet with some of the worst stomach cramps. I then didn't experience any such effect for a few days, until it happened once again. The effect was quite on and off, and I wondered if I was brewing the tea for long enough. I would often feel slight stomach aches after drinking and I assume this is kind of the point of the teatox.

I have to be honest, though, I didn't make it to day 14. I stopped after about 8 days after the stomach pains and toilet trips were affecting my day to day life. For me, it wasn't worth it and I didn't feel like I was getting much slimmer at all. Obviously if I had completed it I think there would have been more of a result, but it was honestly not an experience I wanted to put myself through.

This is just my experience with SlendertoxTea, and I've heard really good things about it from other people, so it may just be that my body was not up for being cleansed! For me, exercising regularly and eating clean is a much more effective way of losing weight.

Have you tried a teatox before? What was your experience like?

UPDATE 28/6/15: I recently discovered that this teatox (as well as many others) stop the contraceptive pill from functioning properly, meaning that during your teatox there can be the risk of you falling pregnant if you don't use a second means of contraception. I was completely unaware of this until today as the packaging doesn't state this risk, only the FAQs  on the website. To me, this seems like a pretty important piece of information and I'm a little bit annoyed that they fail to label this as a side effect on the actual packaging. I know that as a first time user I would not be aware of this and an unplanned pregnancy for anyone is not something to take lightly. Anyway, I thought I'd update it here as a warning. Thanks!
