Seaside Stripes

I don't want to alarm anyone, but I have a sneaky suspicion that Michelle Keegan (or the people at Lipsy) can read my mind, because I want everything from her clothing line. Seriously, it's like somebody attached me to a thought extracting device, searched for 'dream wardrobe' and the viola! The Michelle Keegan Collection was created (but secretly it should be called the Jordan Collection, am I right?!).

So, yeah, this dress is no exception. It also happens to be pretty damn near perfect for the seaside, which means only one thing; spontaneous trip to Brighton beach!

In all seriousness, I am in love with this dress. I'm always on the look out for high quality, everyday dresses, especially when they're as pretty as this. If I had it my way, I would banish jeans from my closet and wear dresses like this all the time. Sadly, the British weather isn't as keen on the idea as I am. I'm taking every opportunity of sun to bust out my legs and the summer dresses. The furry leggings are only appealing for a certain amount of time...

You may have noticed that I also wore the wedges I wear with everything and the sunglasses I wear with everything. I'm a huge believer in the 'buy one thing that goes with everything and then wear it to death' mantra, which you've seen me do with my black boots a thousand times as well.

The dress is a gorgeous, off the shoulder Bardot dress, and it really does feel like an 'Everyday Princess' dress. The fabric is beautifully thick and flares out effortlessly, creating a gorgeous shape. All the clothes I've bought from the Michelle Keegan collection have been fantastic quality and I really don't mind paying the bit of extra money for something that's going to last a long time.

It was days like this one that remind me of how much I love Brighton in the summertime. Despite the influx of tourists and the crowded beaches, the early mornings in the sun can be splendidly isolated and beautiful. My parents and I spent the morning having breakfast back at Cafe Coho, before relaxing on the pebbles. I wish we could have laid there all day, but unfortunately they had to drive home meaning only a few moments were spent soaking up the rare rays.
