Two Books that Changed my Life

There are two books that I wanted to share with you, because honestly they changed my life after reading them. One you will have probably heard of, but the first you may not.

This book was given to me by my dad many years ago. It doesn't take long to read, maybe half an hour if you sat down but it truly puts life in perspective. The author wrote it for his son before he left home and went off to college and it's essentially the ultimate guide to life. Not everything in it is achievable, but most of them are. A lot of them are just little things that are easy to incorporate into every day life.

Here are a few of my favourites, although it was very difficult to pick just these.

I put number 346 on the back of the school yearbook that I made. It is so true. When I look back I don't regret anything I ever did, but I do regret not telling the first boy I liked that I liked him immediately. It would have saved a lot of heartache.

The second book is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I can already hear your mumbled sighs of 'Oh not this again'. But it is my favourite book of all time.

If you haven't read it, it's essentially a love story about two teenagers who have cancer. But it's not a story about cancer, which a lot of people think and therefore don't want to read it. Above all it's a story about living life to the full, no matter how long you have left. I don't experience it much, but when I finished this book I felt enlightened, like a weight had been lifted.

I seriously recommend that you read this at least once in your life.

Let me know if you've read either of these books in the comments. If you have, what did you think of them? Also let me know any books that have changed your life. As a certified bookworm I am always looking for a new read!
